Located in Kips Bay on Manhattans East side, the high rise building experienced facade moisture intrusion conditions that necessitated the replacement of all 32 stories of the brick facade. Mast-climber scaffold platforms were utilized during construction to replace the brick facade system including new steel shelf angles, flashing systems, rigid insulation system, windows and AC sleeves.
As an expert in waterproofing and masonry construction, EBI served as a liaison between the owner and the architect on the project said to be valued at over 30 Millions dollars. EBI performed construction observation of the facade reconstruction at the owner’s request and provided consultation on the project. Observations were reported to the owner’s representatives in written reports including photographic documentation of conditions observed.
