St. Agnes Cathedral, constructed in 1935 is the seat of the Diocese of Long Island. Significant deterioration was revealed during field evaluation of this gothic styled structure which led to a major façade restoration project including the restoration of the cathedral’s copper dome roof. EBI was named the Engineer of Record by the dioceses and provided prompt, practical and cost-effective solutions. As a result, the project was completed on-time and under-budget.
EBI continues to provide the dioceses engineering consultation on many Long Island church buildings.
